Joyous Ganesh Chaturthi Celebrations at My Care Elderly Wellness Centre
The arrival of Bappa brings unmatched spiritual warmth, optimism and festive cheer into every home. This year, My Care Elderly Wellness Centre celebrated Ganesh Chaturthi across our branches—Andheri East, Thane Owale, Thane Naglabunder and Anandvan—filling our halls with vibrant decorations, heart-touching rituals and smiles from our beloved Nana-Nanis and dedicated care staff.
At My Care, celebrating traditional festivals forms an essential part of our holistic elderly wellness care, nurturing emotional well-being, cognitive vitality and deep social connection for older adults.
Ganesh Sthapana & Festive Agaman Across Our Branches
Each branch welcomed Lord Ganesha with immense devotion, tailored to provide a safe, comfortable and highly engaging environment for our senior residents.
- Grand Ganesh Pujan at Andheri East Branch: Our Andheri East centre kicked off the festivities with a serene Ganesh Pujan. Senior members performed the traditional sthapana rituals alongside our care team, offering fresh flowers, durva grass and lighting the ceremonial lamp amidst traditional aarti chants.
- Grand Ganesh Agaman at Owale & Naglabunder Branches: The festive energy was unmatchable at our Thane Owale and Naglabunder branches as our Nana-Nanis welcomed Ganpati Bappa with traditional dhol-tasha beats, flower petals and joyful chants of "Ganpati Bappa Morya!".
- Devotional Celebrations at Anandvan Branch: Our Anandvan centre was beautifully decorated with eco-friendly mandap setups. Senior residents joined in singing classic Marathi and Hindi bhajans, creating an atmosphere of deep peace and spiritual joy.
- Freshly Made Ukdiche Modak: Bappa’s favorite offering was prepared with immense love. Our kitchen team cooked fresh, traditional steamed Ukdiche Modak (rice flour dumplings stuffed with jaggery and freshly grated coconut). Senior members relished the warm, healthy prasad together.
Therapeutic & Emotional Benefits of Festival Celebrations for Seniors
Cultural celebrations provide profound mental health benefits for older adults, particularly those enrolled in our specialized dementia and memory care programs:
- Cognitive Reminiscence: Familiar aarties, scents of camphor and fresh flowers stimulate long-term memory, helping seniors feel emotionally grounded and mentally sharp.
- Active Social Engagement: Participating in group prayer and festive dining helps eliminate feelings of loneliness, fostering a strong sense of community.
- Sensory and Emotional Upliftment: The music, visual decorations and shared prasad trigger positive endorphin release, reducing anxiety and promoting overall emotional health.
